Sonoma Coast Poppies
A view up the Sonoma Coast in the springtime. When the air is crisp and blowing your clothes flat against your body. The grass is lush and the sun is warm on the craigs that abbreviate the patches of poppies growing up against the coast.
Artists Note:
In an effort to paint poppies with a loser hand I went with a gradient under painting. Yellow to poppy orange. This made the painting of the foliage much more gestural and the composition of the poppies more natural and flowing.
