About Me
Inspired by nature, born from the mind.
Thank you for your interest in my work. My name is Leah Rose. I am primarily a landscape and wildlife painter.
Originally from the Santa Cruz mountains, I now reside in Soquel, California. I have been employed as a commercial artist since 1999.
I am self taught through experimentation and more recently through online universities and videos. I have continued to grow and progress my skill during my day job making hand lettered signage, murals and contracted work. Subjects vary from sky scapes to intricate high contrast illustrations. My pieces often have a vivid color palette and a pleasant flow.
I create my paintings live on twitch & you tube where you can watch each painting come to life in my home studio in California. Watch your commissioned art come together or even ask questions live.
Inspiration
I am most inspired to create paintings of various aspects of nature. Places that are well traveled & fond to the heart along with animals both wild and domestic. I am trying to focus on California landscapes & National Parks.
Techniques
I primarily work in traditional mediums such as acrylic and gouache. I paint on smooth materials such as art boards & cradled birch panels. Digital painting with "traditional" technics has been a more recent endeavor.
